The Struggle of Finding 90s Snacks – Stop Playing with My Childhood!

I don’t know who is in charge of bringing back nostalgic snacks, but they’re doing a horrible job. Because every time I go looking for the best snacks from my childhood, guess what? They’re gone. Discontinued. Vanished.
And for what? Because somebody decided we didn’t need happiness anymore?
It’s disrespectful.
I need to talk about this because I am tired.
1. Waffle Crisp: The Cereal That Stole My Heart and Broke It

Let’s start with the biggest betrayal of my childhood—Waffle Crisp.
Listen. I was a Lucky Charms girl at first. I was loyal. But then one day, Waffle Crisp came into my life, and everything changed. The crunch. The sweet, syrupy goodness. The way it turned the milk into a whole experience. I was obsessed.
And then? They took it from me. Just snatched it off the shelves like my love didn’t matter.
FOR YEARS. YEARS! I searched for Waffle Crisp, and it was nowhere to be found. And then, one fateful day in 2016, I walked into Meijer, went down the cereal aisle just minding my business, and there it was.
Waffle Crisp.
I swear, I heard angelic voices. I bought two boxes immediately. Took them home, poured a bowl, and had a full-on foodgasm. I was in heaven.
But then? The next week, it was gone again.
I checked every store. Never saw it again.
A whole cereal bar opened in my city, and I was like, YES, maybe they’ll have Waffle Crisp! But guess what? They didn’t.
So now, here I am. Waffle Crisp-less. Just sad. I don’t understand why they won’t bring it back for good.
2. Kudos Granola Bars: The Snack That Understood Me

Y’all remember Kudos bars?!
That was my lunchbox GO-TO. My mom knew what time it was. If you had a Kudos bar in your lunch? Oh, you were that girl.
It wasn’t just a granola bar—it was granola wrapped in chocolate.
The M&M and Snickers flavors? Unmatched.
Texture? Perfect. Sweetness? Just right.
Why did they take it away?!
You’re telling me we have 50 different brands of protein bars that taste like cardboard dipped in sadness, but we can’t have Kudos back?!
Make it make sense.
3. Lunchables: The 90s Kid Classic (That My Daughter Took Over)
Okay, Lunchables weren’t even a meal—they were a whole lifestyle.
I had them mostly at home as a snack, but if you had a Lunchable in your lunchbox at school? Whew. You were ELITE.
Now, let’s be real—those little squares of meat and cheese? Questionable. That little pizza? Cold. But did that matter? NO. Because it was fun.
And honestly? They still exist, but they ain’t the same. The portions got smaller, the taste changed, and now they cost like $5 per box??
Back in the day, Lunchables were for the kids. Now they’re overpriced nostalgia traps.
4. Dunkaroos: The One Thing They FINALLY Got Right
Dunkaroos had us all in a chokehold. The cookie-to-frosting ratio was perfection.
Then? They snatched it away.
We waited YEARS for them to bring it back, and when they did? They actually got it right! Same taste, same vibe, they didn’t mess with the formula.
I even threw a 90s party and made Dunkaroo Dip, and let me tell you—it was a HIT.
So to the people who brought back Dunkaroos the right way—thank you. You understood the assignment.
Now tell the Waffle Crisp people to take notes.
Final Thoughts: Fix This. Immediately.
There is no reason why I should have to be out here hunting down snacks from my childhood like I’m on a 90s scavenger hunt.
There is no reason why Waffle Crisp, Kudos, and so many others are missing from my life.
And there is DEFINITELY no reason why we’re sitting here in 2025, and somebody hasn’t created a store that only sells 90s snacks.
Because I would spend all my money there.
The point is, if brands are going to bring back our favorites, BRING THEM BACK RIGHT. Stop teasing us with limited releases. Stop changing the formula.
Either bring it back the way we remember it… or don’t bring it back at all.
Because honestly? I’m tired of being hurt.
